Wavemaker Is Not Another AI Model Aggregator — Here's the Difference
Aggregators resell prompt boxes to partner models. Wavemaker directs productions: QC gates, directed multi-scene spines, honest dual-meter billing, and workflows you own.
Every month another site launches with the same pitch: all the AI models in one place. One wallet, fifty prompt boxes, and a pile of disconnected clips at the end. That is an aggregator — and it is genuinely useful for one thing: trying models.
Wavemaker carries the same named models (Kling, Seedance, Veo, Seedream, and more). But if that were the whole product, we’d be an aggregator too. The difference is everything that happens around the model call.
Aggregators resell generation. Wavemaker directs production.
When you hand an aggregator a prompt, you get back whatever the model returns. When you hand Wavemaker a brief, a directed pipeline takes over:
- Strategy and script — the run plans acts, scenes, and spoken copy before any pixels render
- Materialization — each scene binds the right model with identity, wardrobe, and brand locks stamped into the prompt
- QC gates on every clip — identity match, anatomy, text legibility, seed fidelity, motion adherence; failures re-roll within budget or fail honestly with a refund
- Assemble — one Remotion composition: transitions, word-synced captions, VO/music timeline, CTA endcard — then a final QC on the assembled cut
The model is one node in that graph. Swap Kling for Seedance and the direction, locks, and QC stay.
Five structural differences
The graph is real. Wavemaker runs native Comfy graphs on our GPUs. Open any run’s graph, edit it, or import your own ComfyUI JSON. An aggregator’s “workflow” is a form; ours is an executable artifact you own.
QC can say no. Aggregators ship whatever comes back — a six-fingered hand is your problem. Our gates block, re-roll, or fail closed. Trusted failures (illegible ad text, broken product physics) never soft-ship.
Billing is a receipt, not a slot machine. Dual-meter preflight shows the GPU class and partner API units before you confirm. Unused reserve refunds automatically. Credits never expire — no 90-day forfeiture.
Workflows are property. Publish a workflow once and earn on every run — a 10% royalty on open workflows or your own per-run price on premium ones. Aggregator templates are consumables; Wavemaker workflows are assets.
Brand is grounded, not pasted. Site research → brand kit → BRAND LOCK stamped at engage → letter-perfect headline/body/CTA burned by the static ads pipeline. Not a logo dragged onto a generic render.
Where aggregators still win — and why we don’t care
Aggregators list more logos, ship marketing pages for models they barely integrate, and farm thousands of thin /model-x-tool-y SEO pages. We deliberately cap our page surface to families and capabilities with provenance-backed demos, and we skip avatar/live-swap categories entirely.
If you need a quick single clip from a specific model, an aggregator is fine — so is our raw leaf. The moment you need a deliverable — an ad that passes review, a film with consistent characters, a campaign in five formats — a prompt box per model stops being a product.
Models are cast. Wavemaker is the director.
Frequently asked questions
- What is an AI model aggregator?
- A site that wraps many partner model APIs behind one credit wallet — a prompt box per model, output shipped as-is, campaign assembly left to you.
- How is Wavemaker different from an aggregator?
- Wavemaker directs productions: one prompt becomes a multi-scene run with script, scenes, voiceover, music, QC gates on every clip, and a final assembled cut. Models are cast; the pipeline and the workflows you own are the product.
- Does Wavemaker still offer raw model leaves?
- Yes — Kling, Seedance, Veo, Seedream and more are catalog leaves at /platform/ai-models. The difference is what surrounds them: QC, dual-meter preflight, never-expiring credits, and graphs you can edit and publish.
- What does QC actually do?
- Directed graphs gate every clip (identity, anatomy, text legibility, motion adherence) and run a final QC on the assembled cut. Failures re-roll within budget or fail honestly with a refund — they never silently ship.
