What is Wavemaker?

An overview of Wavemaker — chat-first AI media that turns prompts, URLs, and uploads into finished videos, images, and audio.

Last updated August 12, 2026

Wavemaker turns an idea into finished media. You describe what you want — in plain language, with a URL, or with uploaded files — and Wavemaker plans and produces it. The default path is a real, edited video: multiple scenes, camera moves, spoken dialogue, a music bed, synced captions, and a branded close. The same composer also ships Images (platform-ready static ads or plain stills) and Audio.

What makes it different

Most AI video tools generate a single clip from a prompt. Wavemaker produces a complete video, the way a production team would:

  • It plans first. Every generation starts with a creative strategy, a script with timed beats, and a storyboard.
  • It generates real coverage. Each scene is generated as a still first, quality-reviewed, then animated — so you get intentional compositions instead of random motion.
  • Sound is first-class. On-screen characters speak with lip-synced dialogue baked into the clip. Off-screen narration is recorded with a designed voice. Music is generated to fit — or synced to a song you upload.
  • Everything is editable. After the first cut you iterate in chat (Redo, Replace, Animate, Extend, Edit) without starting over. Idle productions can also take structured edits (add/reorder scenes, dialogue, music).
  • Quality is enforced, not hoped for. Every image and clip passes automated review — anatomy, on-screen text, identity, motion, and product physics — with bounded rewrites when something fails.

How you work

Chat (/platform/chat) is the main surface: describe the video, watch it plan and build, then refine it. Every generation lives in a session you can return to. + New generation starts a fresh session without leaving the shell.

Discover (/platform/discover) is the catalog of published workflows — Try a recipe, Remix it into your own copy, or pin a Flow for repeat runs. (Older /hub links redirect here.)

Nodes is the graph view of the open session: production graphs are display-only so you can see lineage; Create workflow (Describe / Template / Import / Blank) is where you author a reusable graph. See Canvas / Nodes.

What you can make

  • Ads and commercials — including frame-exact broadcast lengths (:15/:30/:60).
  • Brand videos from a URL — paste your site and Wavemaker researches the brand and grounds claims in your pages. See Brand videos from a URL.
  • Social content — vertical, square, or widescreen with word-synced captions.
  • Explainers, product showcases, music videos, longer film — pick a catalog workflow or describe the format in chat. See Video Styles.
  • Catalog / campaign variants — feed × template for product ads. See Catalog Video.
  • Downloadable audio — radio/podcast spots, music beds, VO. See Audio mode.
